Final Thoughts & Pictures - Digital Photography II

Once again, another great digital photography class!  I've really enjoyed working with macro images, and snapping some other great shots along the way as well.  Even from when I took Digital Photography I, my interest, attention to detail, and "artistic eye" are always growing and improving.  I've also enjoyed seeing the photography of others, and everyone else's different ways of "seeing."  I've posted a couple more images above, that I've added to my fotothing in the last week...check out my fotothing for more images.   Thank you Professor Nevins, and the rest of the class, for a really great experience!

Last Assignment

I really enjoyed this class.  I now have a good relationship with my digital camera.  I carry it everywhere trying to get a good shot.  I am not perfect, but I will keep taking photos all the time.  I enjoy the beach photos and this is what I came up with.

Last Assignment

Like I said previously, I took a lot of pictures of nature.  I would like to post some more of those pictures because I enjoyed this assignment the most.

I really enjoyed this class.  I taught me some new techniques with taking pictures, even though I have a long way to go.

I hope everyone has a great rest of the year!

Beach/Water

I really enjoyed taking picture of nature.  I found it easy to take pictures of beautiful natural settings that didn't need much lighting or posing.

I took a lot of pictures, but here are my favorites.

Natural Light

I don't really think that I captured the true value of this assignment, but I tried my best.

I used my son as a subject and tried to get him in natural light as best I knew how.

Post 6 - Digital Photography II

When the end of the Mod drawing closer, I thought I'd put some photos on the blog that I've posted on Fotothing in the last couple weeks...I didn't realize I forgot to post on the blog last week!  Anyway, these photos were taken at the botanical gardens in New Canaan, CT.  In the top photo, I thought the texture of the plant was pretty cool, along with the shadows the plant creates.  In the middle photo, I love the colors of the flower, and the detail in the center.  Lastly, I enjoy the lighting in the bottom photo, in addition to the butterfly caught mid-flight!  I hope you enjoy my pictures...check my fotothing for more!

Weeks 7 & 8

Tried hard to leave the light source out of my pictures this week. Here's what I came up with...these are my favorites!

Sunday, October 7, 2012

This week's theme is "Sleep Like a Baby".  While it seemed like this idea might be a bit less challenging since he would be [mostly] still, finding good sleepy moments in good lighting are few and far between. I witness so many of his little sleeping "cherub" moments when I am holding him, but it makes it incredibly difficult to snap a photo with a sleeping baby in your arms. In any event I was able to get some good shots including this one - one of my favorite of all time. Its moments like these that make life incredibly worth it.

week 7and 8

I had a hard time picking some.  The ones not here will be out in Fotothing.  I don't go anywhere anymore without my camera and look forward to getting into more experimenting with contrast and lighting.

Week 6 Digital Portrait

I had a hard time getting people to want me to take their picture but managed to get my daughter to sit still long enough to sanp one although you can see she does not look happy.  My husband I snapped while reading the paper one morning.

Macro Week 5

I liked these macros the best as it was amazing that these bugs did not fly away.
In listenting to the NPR item I was taken by the story.  I first found interesting the age difference in the topic characters.  I wondered how these two had crossed paths.  One is a famous artist and one unknown.  It appears that they love of the art drew them together.  The relationship develops out of that love for a common topic.  Over the years they begin to find that they want more than a "business" relationship and this is where the issue begins.  You here this in the news today.  Stars in Hollywood are drawn to each other during a filming or prooject they work on togther.  That is not reality and rarely does it work long term.  While the attraction of people is often a result of a common interest, that cannot be the sole purpose for getting together.  The age difference obviously came into play in this relationship as O'Keeffe was young and still wanted some of the things in life that Stieglitz had already experienced.  It is no wonder that O'Keeffe needed to go off and find herself after some modest fame.  It is ashame that the relationship seemed to fail as she became famous and almost seemed to not need him.  I had never heard the name of these people before but was intrigued by the article and want to learn more about the works of them both.

Weeks 7 & 8

For my final pictures I combined macro along with some beach shots. They are my two favorite tasks that we were given over the eight weeks.
